VENTNOR — Tradition, community, and a love for riding throughout Absecon Island brought bikers together outside of Ventnor Public Library on Sunday morning for the 16th annual Le Tour de Downbeach.

"It's a beautiful opportunity for people to connect, to make new friends and to explore their communities," Margate Business Association executive director Ann Maria Courter said.

The 12-mile bike tour is hosted by the business associations of Margate and Ventnor. Participants began on the Boardwalk behind the library and made toward through Atlantic City, where they looped back through Longport before ending in Ventnor. Tomatoes in Margate provided a post-ride barbecue featuring live music and free water ice from Margate Dairy Bar & Burger.
