BATTLE CREEK — The Coldwater softball team is young and hungry.

Don't forget talented.

That combination was just too much for the rest of the field as Coldwater rolled to a district championship in Division 2 softball action at Harper Creek on Saturday, May 31.

Coldwater defeated host Harper Creek in the district final 8-0. That came after Coldwater rolled past Marshall 13-0 in five innings in the district semifinal.

"Me and my two assistant coaches have coached nine of the 11 girls on this team since they were 5 or 6 years old, so we have been fortunate to be around this special group of girls," first-year Coldwater coach Aaron Bucklin said.
