“Bulldogging” detectives did round-the-clock surveillance – watching an alleged gang of international crooks using an actual bulldog as cover while casing homes.

Chuckling at a May 28 press conference, Scottsdale Police Officer Aaron Bolin noted, “it was almost like a movie.”

Just before an unusually crime-filled Memorial Day weekend, Scottsdale Police squashed a potential sequel to last year’s “dinner-time bandits.”

In early 2024, an unofficial group dubbed by law enforcement the “South American Theft Group” took advantage of tourist visas to rob North Scottsdale homes.

The stealthy thieves plundered 100 hundred Valley homes, including 39 in North Scottsdale. The winter-spring crime spree was throttled when Scottsdale cops arrested three Chilean crooks near Pima and Jomax roads.
