MISSOULA — Angel Mendoza collected three hits including a double that drove in two runs in the seventh inning, but the Glacier Range Riders couldn’t complete the comeback, losing to the Missoula PaddleHeads 7-6 to split the six-game series in Pioneer League baseball on Sunday.

Mendoza finished with three RBIs and the Range Riders (7-4) threatened to tie the game in the ninth inning as Logan Beard and Gavin Tonkel both reached base with no outs. The next three batters were retired in order to end the game.

JD McLaughlin doubled home two runs in the sixth inning and drove in another on a sacrifice fly to pace the Range Riders out of the leadoff spot. Beard scored two runs, and Efrain Manzo added two hits. Kingston Liniak reached base three times via walks.
