A landlady visiting her rented house to chase up rent from a tenant discovered her property had been turned into a cannabis farm.

Paul Johnson was jailed after the shocking discovery at the house he had been renting on St Michael's Road in Chell, Stoke-on-Trent. Police recovered some 60 plants from the property after the landlady made the shocking discovery.

On June 22 2022 the owner had been chasing Johnson about overdue rent, but arrived at the house to find that the lock on the front door had been changed, StokeonTrentLive reports .
