RAWLINS -- Arbor Day was celebrated in style by Rawlins residents, as they gathered Saturday, May 31, at the Rawlins Recreation Center to run, plant, raise money and generally love trees and plants.

The morning event started with the Fruit Loop 5k/1k run and walk. It was well attended by people of all ages. The proceeds from T-shirt sales and signup donations went to the Rawlins running programs. Winners of the 5k were students Noah Blasi and Faith Fisher.

I the rec center were a variety of trees and shrubs for sale. The Carbon County University of Wyoming Extension was also on hand giving out a variety of vegetable plants.
