The sentencing of an Augusta County businessman behind a multimillion-dollar tax fraud scheme has been delayed by what was described as a medical emergency after he posted online about committing suicide.

Richard Moore, a 47-year-old Fishersville resident, was expected to be sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg after pleading guilty to two counts of tax fraud while serving as executive vice president and part-owner of Verona-based Nexus Services, which provided legal services to immigrant detainees.
