WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — Eleven airports across Maine will receive more than $4.2 million in federal funding to support critical infrastructure upgrades, as part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Fiscal Year 2025 Airport Infrastructure Grants program.

The funding, totaling $4,201,355, is made possible through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act , which allocated $15 billion nationwide for airport improvements.

The grants are aimed at enhancing safety, extending the life of key infrastructure, and supporting economic development in communities throughout the state, according to a press release from Sen. Susan Collins' office.

Collins, R-Maine, is chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and helped secure the funding.
