Southwest Airlines just made a major announcement that’s set to expand its global reach.

Just days after implementing its new baggage policy , the airline revealed an exciting partnership with China Airlines Group, a Taiwan-based carrier, according to a statement released by the company on Monday, June 2.

The interline partnership is set to launch in early 2026, with connections expected to be available for sale later this year. This partnership was unveiled during the International Air Transport Association's 2025 Annual General Meeting in India, marking Southwest’s first foray into the trans-Pacific market.
