VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — An armed felon was taken into custody after a chase in Vanderburgh County over the weekend, according to the sheriff's office.
On Sunday, VCSO deputies stopped a driver after seeing them fail to use a turn signal at the intersection of South Governor Street and Bellemeade Avenue.
During the stop, a passenger in the vehicle identified as Cameron Banks got out and tried to run, according to deputies.
Deputies say they chased Banks and saw him try to ditch a handgun. At one point, they say Banks tripped, fell, and hurt himself, but continued to flee.
Banks was eventually taken into custody, and the handgun was recovered and confirmed as stolen.
A search of Banks also led to the discover of some meth and a glass pipe, VCSO said.
