WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded around 1:14 p.m. to Burgandy Street following reports of a hit-and-run involving injuries. They found 53-year-old Tammy Denise Long with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.
Authorities believe the crash was intentional. While the relationship between the suspect and the victim remains unclear, investigators said the incident appears isolated and that the suspect and victim were known to each other.
