The Class of 2025 said goodbye to Southwestern High School on Friday night, after one of the more challenging and unusual journeys ever taken by students at that school.

As was pointed out by school officials who spoke at the Class of 2025 commencement ceremony held in the Southwestern gymnasium, those students entered high school as the effects of Covid-19 were still being felt in classrooms, with the precautions taken by school. Four years later, just a few weeks short of their graduation, one of the strongest Pulaski County tornadoes in memory ripped through much of the area served by SWHS, disrupting the lives of families and students.
