TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - An arrest has been made in connection with a murder in Texarkana.

On Monday, June 2, the Texarkana Texas Police Department announced the arrest of Benjamin Brem, 24, in connection with the May shooting death of Jaylen Betts, 21.

Brem was arrested in Houston, police say.

The shooting happened during the early morning hours of May 10. Officers in Texarkana responded to reports of shots being fired in the 1300 block of Carroll Street. When officers got there, they found Betts inside the house. Police say he died on the scene.

A 52-year-old man at the house was also shot. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
