5WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 32-year-old woman was shot and killed midday Tuesday on a residential block in Southeast, prompting a citywide search for a suspect now wanted for murder.
The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 12:41 p.m. on May 27 in the 2300 block of Pitts Place SE. Responding to reports of gunfire, officers arrived to find the woman unconscious and not breathing. She was later identified as Tequila Parker of Southeast, D.C.
Emergency crews transported Parker to a hospital, but despite all lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Mercury Ford of Southeast, is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for First Degree Murder while Armed.
