AUBURN – The Indiana State Police, at the request of the Auburn Police Department, is investigating an officer-involved shooting, resulting in injuries to an Auburn man.

Preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police detectives revealed that this evening at 6:30 p.m., a call came into DeKalb County dispatch of a male who entered a residence in the 300 block of West 11th Street in Auburn and pointed a gun at another person.

Auburn Police Department responded to the location, and the man had fled the area. Auburn PD located the man a short time later near the residence. The male was armed, and an exchange of gunfire ensued.

The male suspect was shot and injured. As soon as it was safe to do so, Auburn Police Officers rendered first aid until medics arrived. He was then transported to
