OROVILLE, Calif. - A Butte County Juvenile Court judge has ruled that a 19-year-old Oroville teen will not be tried as an adult for the 2023 murder of a man in Oroville.
The judge ruled that the alleged shooter, who was 17 at the time of the murder, will remain under juvenile court jurisdiction.
The teenager is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Ronnie Frazier in south Oroville on May 30, 2023.
According to the Butte County District Attorney's Office, the case followed an extensive investigation by Oroville Police.
The District Attorney filed a juvenile petition charging murder with a firearm and sought to transfer the case to adult court.
