Speakers representing the American Cancer Society, Missouri Rural Health Association and others gathered in Jefferson City on Monday to address how they say federal Medicaid cuts will affect the health care of Missourians. Heidi Lucas, Executive Director, of Missouri Rural Health Association said proposed changes and funding restrictions proposed by Congress would greatly impact health care for rural Missourians. She said about 26.3% of rural Missourians are being covered by Medicaid and already face significant barriers to care.
