JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering and a suspect is in custody after a shooting on the city's Northside Monday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said around 3 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 6400 block of Restlawn Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a man shot multiple times. The gunshot wounds were considered not life-threatening, according to police.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took the victim to the hospital, where he remains.

Police said a short time after the shooting, a man called police and identified himself as the shooter. He was taken into custody without incident.
