LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Due to the recent wildfires in Canada, several parts of Central Arkansas have seen an increase of smoke in the air.

Over the weekend, some people even noted that the sun appeared red in the sky during sunset.

This has been caused because upper-level wind flow has been dragging the smoke down from Canada, all the way to the southern parts of the United States!

Since the smoke is so high up in the atmosphere, it hasn't created any significant air quality impacts.

However, as mentioned, it has changed the appearance of the sky.

Due to those extra (smoke) particles in the air, light from the sun has to interact with more obstacles before reaching the surface.
