WASHINGTON — The United States Postal Service (USPS) is launching its National Dog Bite Awareness Campaign after dog attacks on postal service workers rose to more than 6,000 cases in 2024.

The month-long campaign began on Sunday, June 1, and encourages people to keep their dogs secured and away from postal workers.

“The best way to keep safe from dog attacks is to recognize and promote the responsibility of pet ownership, such as teaching your dog appropriate behavior and commands and not allowing your dog to roam freely.
