A North Lenoir High School senior whose exploits in sports, community groups, and student-led associations has earned a scholarship to Honors College at East Carolina University.

Eagan Ballard, 18, of Kinston, will leave North Lenoir High School after piling up an impressive stack of achievements, said Patrick Holmes, former public information officer for Lenoir County Public Schools.
