CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - In a new-look boys state soccer quarterfinal Monday, the three-class field of 32 was cut down to 16, and several Eastern Iowa teams punched their ticket to Des Moines.

Five area teams will play in the semifinals.

Liberty won a defensive masterclass against Des Moines Hoover, outscoring the Huskies in penalty kicks following a 0-0 tie through regulation and overtime.

Cedar Rapids Washington upset Dallas Center Grimes in penalty kicks, they will take on Liberty in the semifinals.

Williamsburg advances in the 2A finals, beating Burlington, Notre Dame 2-1 at home.

In 1A, Regina and Hudson piked up wins over St. Albert and West Central Valley respectively.

North Fayette Valley, West Liberty, Dubuque Wahlert and City High all lost on Monday, ending their seasons
