Others see screaming battles over faltering economies.

As the midway point in 2025 approaches, perhaps the most emotional outcry in Scottsdale is over a parking garage.

One group – backed by two versions of Scottsdale City Council approvals – defends the planned expansion of “The Corral” parking lot expansion in Old Town to a three-story garage.

Another group – supporting a defiant Mayor Lisa Borowsky – argues a “concrete monstrosity” would displace a long-running farmers market and “desecrate” the Old Adobe Mission vibe.

Predictably, members of both sides had vastly differing takes on a “Brown Avenue Parking Structure Expansion” presentation.
