A child has been arrested as part of investigation into a major fire which saw fifty people evacuated from a block of flats.
Emergency services were called to a fire at a block of flats in Marsh House Lane, Warrington at 5.28pm on Monday (June 2). Fifty people were rescued by firefighters and 14 were assessed by paramedics at the scene, but no one required hospital treatment.
Police and the fire service remained at the scene throughout the night as road closures remained in place in the area.
A joint investigation into the cause of the fire has now been launched. Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Cheshire Police said that a child was also arrested as part of the investigation and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
