HOUSTON (KIAH)--The Texas Education Agency announced that the state takeover of Houston ISD will continue for another two years. The news comes before TEA will reveal the timeline for when the district will return to board elected members that will run the district.

This news is bringing many reactions from teachers, parents and the Texas State Teachers Association, also known as TSTA. TSTA representatives say the extension was no surprise. The organization believes that there was a motive all along for TEA to keep control over HISD.
