With a little less than two months to go before Detroit's mayoral primary, many are trying to figure out who the best candidate is to replace three-term Mayor Mike Duggan.

Detroit Free Press investigative columnist M.L. Elrick writes that attendees at this week's Detroit Regional Chamber gathering on Mackinac Island aren't overly excited by the choices for mayor.

He writes:

The general consensus among the business, political, and nonprofit movers and shakers who attended last week's Detroit Regional Chamber annual policy conference is that the mayoral options are underwhelming. That made the candidates' May 29 debate—held before hundreds of people who paid thousands of dollars to attend—an intriguing opportunity to see who might separate themselves from the pack.
