CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A teen is dead in a drive-by shooting in Cincinnati early Tuesday, police say.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Kayshawn Cornelious.

According to Cincinnati Police Captain Stephen Bower, someone inside a vehicle drove up and opened fire into a home in the 3000 block of Percy Avenue in Westwood and then sped off around 1:30 a.m.

A 17-year-old male, later identified as Cornelious, was found inside with three gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, Captain Bower said.

Multiple shell casings were found outside the home, he says.

ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system that alerts Cincinnati police to gunfire incidents, detected as many as 14 shots were fired, Bower said.
