HOLLYWOOD, S.C. (WCSC) - A program feeding seniors across the country is back again and, this year, every county in South Carolina is participating.

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program officially kicked off Sunday.

The program is funded by a United States Department of Agriculture grant and enables qualifying seniors to receive a total of $50 that can be spent on produce from local farmers.

South Carolina was awarded more than $650,000 this year. Across the nation, more than 800,000 seniors participate in the program, with around 34,000 seniors in South Carolina participating in the program last year.
