SEDALIA — The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has issued a final hazardous waste permit for the Missouri Press Metals facility in Sedalia.

The permit will allow the company to continue monitoring groundwater conditions during annual sampling events, continue operating its groundwater extraction system and continue post-closure care of its closed landfill.

In 2023 the company submitted a permit application to DNR to renew and update its existing agreement. The company closed all its permitted hazardous waste units and no longer operates as a hazardous waste storage facility.

The company is currently conducting corrective action and remediation activates at the site.
