2024 hurricane season
After a slow June and July, Hurricane Debby became the first storm to make landfall in 2024 on Aug. 5. Making landfall in Steinhatchee, the Category 1 storm brought winds of 80 mph, and drenching rains to Florida's Big Bend region and Georgia.
Tropical storm conditions were felt as far south as the Florida Keys, and brought historic flooding to west-central Florida.
Locally, Orlando saw sustained winds of about 35 mph, with gusts to 50 mph, and rainfall between 1-2 inches.
