A man died Saturday after a shooting at a privately owned apartment complex designed for USC students.

Richland County Coroner, Naida Rutherford, has identified the victim as 25-year-old Damajne Hicks if Columbia.

"We will continue working with the Richland County Sheriff's Department to fully investigate this homicide," said Rutherford.

Richland County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to Redpoint Columbia at 1050 Southern Drive after reports of gunfire at around 6 a.m. Saturday.

The found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside one of the apartments. EMS was called, but the man died of his injuries.
