Dakota Johnson Makes the Case for Sheer Shapewear

When we think of summer trends, shapewear isn’t exactly at the top of our list. But this week, for two days in a row, Dakota Johnson has waged a campaign to change our minds.

Yesterday, despite the summery temps, Johnson opted for an all-black, leather-heavy look. She wore a knee-length black leather Balenciaga coat over a sheer black bodysuit with a plunging V-neck and a center seam. A proponent of the bootcut revival , she added a pair of black, raw-hem jeans and black Khaite Colt wedge mules. While the coat could easily read Matrix , Johnson’s slinky bodysuit, on-trend jeans, and cat-eye sunglasses helped it avoid costume territory.
