Big Thief have announced a new album. Double Infinity is the band’s sixth studio LP and follow-up to 2022’s Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You . Out September 5 via 4AD , the record was made with a rotating cast of collaborators, among them Alena Spanger , Ginla ’s Jon Nellen, Natural Information Society ’s Mikel Patrick Avery, and Laraaji . Now a trio, following the departure of bassist Max Oleartchik, Big Thief recorded Double Infinity live over the span of three weeks at New York’s Power Station , with longtime collaborator Dom Monks handling production, engineering, and mixing duties. Following the album’s release, Big Thief will kick off their Somersault Slide 360 Tour of North America.
