TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested one of its own officers for alleged sexual assault of a child.

Zackary Gilley, 32, has been a police officer with the department since 2018, officials say. He was put on administrative leave just before his arrest Monday night (June 2).

The department says it immediately started an internal and criminal investigation after the allegations involving a 15-year-old girl surfaced. After investigating and gathering evidence, the police department consulted with the Bowie County District Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued.
