REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Reidsville High School junior Dionte Neal spoke Tuesday afternoon after being awarded the 2024-25 Gatorade Player of the Year for North Carolina boys basketball.
Neal is a standout athlete who led the Reidsville Rams to back-to-back 2A state championships. The 5-foot-9 point guard averaged 22.9 points, 9.3 assists, and 7.1 steals per game while shooting an impressive 62.6% from beyond the arc this season.
He recently received his first Power Five offer to play basketball at Boston College and holds additional offers from schools like Appalachian State, High Point, and NC A&T. Neal is also a dual-sport athlete with football offers from North Carolina, Western Kentucky, and others.
