UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Some of the world's most famous cultural institutions will open their doors for free for one day only this month.

The annual Museum Mile Festival kicks off at 6 p.m. on June 10 and runs through 9 p.m. offering extended hours to enjoy some of New York City's most famous institutions free of charge for all visitors.

The festival runs on Fifth Avenue from 82nd Street to 105th Street, the stretch known for its cultural diversity. In between exhibition hopping, visitors can also enjoy street musicians, art-related activities, food vendors, and more expected to flood the avenue.
