LUBBOCK, Texas -- On Monday afternoon, Joshua Mendoza, 45, of Lubbock was killed in a construction site incident in Garza County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash at 2:30 p.m. on State Highway 207 and County Road 120.

A truck, driven by Crystal Palma, 36, was traveling southbound on SH 207 at the intersection of CR 120, with Jose Botelo, 41, and Mendoza riding on the flatbed of the truck, the crash report said. While removing traffic control equipment, Mendoza fell off the flatbed. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
