DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — The Daviess County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a phone scam where callers impersonate law enforcement officials.

These scammers claim people have missed jury duty, have unpaid fines, or face arrest warrants.

They often demand immediate payment via credit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, or gift cards.

Authorities stress that the sheriff's office or courts will never call to demand payments over the phone.
