At the historic clubhouse, members of the Woman’s Club of Auburn recently gathered for their annual salad luncheon, with each member bringing a favorite salad to share. The elegant dining room table was covered with salads of all kinds, while the sideboard offered a selection of desserts prepared by the hostesses. The Woman’s Club has been a meeting place for women to participate in a variety of programs and philanthropic endeavors for 106 years. Throughout its history, the club has contributed to various community organizations. In recent years, projects included toys for the Salvation Army, the Alabama Child Care Fund, the Food Bank of East Alabama, the Lee County Youth Development Center and others.
