Last week, President Trump said at the White House that he would look into the possibility of pardoning two men convicted in federal court of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Afterward, Whitmer appeared surprised, telling Michigan Public Radio that Trump had assured her about a month ago that he would drop the idea of considering a pardon for Barry Croft Jr. and Adam Fox, who were convicted in 2022 in federal court in Grand Rapids. Croft received nearly 20 years in prison, and Fox was sentenced to 16 years.
