PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A special general election to choose the next county executive and a new District 5 councilmember is underway.

Betty Shaw stopped by the South Bowie Community Center on Tuesday to cast her ballot for Prince George’s County’s next county executive, a position that she says carries serious responsibilities as the county faces uncertain times.
“We’re going to have to look at readjusting all of our lives,” she warned. “We will get through it, but how we get through it will be crucial.”
Shaw joined hundreds of other Prince Georgians as they arrived at voting locations around the county.
State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy is facing off against Jonathan White to fill the county exec
