The University of Idaho is no longer negotiating to buy the for-profit online University of Phoenix, echoing a similar effort that failed in Arkansas about two years ago.

The two schools have “jointly agreed to end discussions,” Phoenix said in a statement Tuesday, Idaho Education News reported.

“While we have decided not to move forward, we remain appreciative of (U of I) President Scott Green , the leadership of the University of Idaho, and the many elected officials in Idaho who supported this process,” Phoenix President Chris Lynne said Tuesday, according to Idaho Edcation News.
