COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Police Department is letting the community know school zone speed restrictions will still be active this summer.

Police say designated zones will be active during the Muscogee County School Disctrict’s summer session.

That program runs Monday through Thursday until June 26th.

Flashing lights will indicate for drivers to slow down during arrival and dismissal times. Speed cameras will also be active during those times.

Police say to slow down, watch for children and stay alert while driving through. Drivers should also plan for traffic in the area while lights are flashing.
