RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A Reno man has been convicted of domestic battery after a jury found he strangled a victim with his belt.
Anthony Selleck will be sentenced on July 21 after being convicted of domestic battery by strangulation and battery by a probationer.
The case began on Dec. 16, 2024, when deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic incident after the victim’s mother called 911, saying that whenever she tried to call her daughter, Selleck could be heard screaming threats before taking the phone.
The Washoe County DA’s Office says that, during the calls, Selleck could be heard telling the victim that her family would never see her again. Police were able to find Selleck’s car in Sparks thanks to information provided by his parole officer.
