Heritage Park marks major milestone for district

As construction begins on long-awaited Heritage Park, Gilbert’s long-envisioned redevelopment of its Heritage District has reached a pivotal moment — one town officials believe cements the district’s evolution into a dynamic, walkable urban destination.

Heritage Park, the new mixed-use development, is more than another project; it’s a cornerstone in a broader strategy to create an “18-hour district” where residents and visitors alike can live, work and play in a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly environment, Economic Development Director Dan Henderson said.

At the northern gateway of downtown Gilbert, Heritage Park is envisioned as the Heritage District’s north anchor.
