PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After several years of planning and four years of construction, the widening project on Interstate 10 in Phoenix is complete!
City and state officials gathered on Tuesday morning to commemorate the completion of the Broadway Curve. All lanes are now open in the area.
The stretch of I-10 carries over 300,000 vehicles on an average weekday, with 75,000 additional vehicles expected on the freeway by 2040. The project expanded capacity for 11 miles of I-10 from Ray Road to I-17 near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
