A man who is claiming insanity said “the devil” told him to savagely cut a woman’s throat two years ago as she was putting air in her vehicle tire in Roseville, according to evidence at his trial in Macomb County Circuit Court.
An insanity plea by Shane Burns, 33, of Washington Township, is being opposed by Macomb prosecutors at his first-degree murder and attempted-murder jury trial that began last Wednesday in front of Judge Jennifer Faunce for the slaying of Cheryl Ryan-Parsley, 60, of Roseville, and attack on Robert Baecke near his St. Clair Shores home.
