Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter has been activated from the 10 day injured list, the team announced today. There was an open spot on the active roster already because Tucker Barnhart was designated for assignment on Sunday, so no corresponding move was needed. In a related note, Tucker Barnhart has cleared waivers and elected to become a free agent.
Carter will presumably play regularly against righthanded pitchers in center field for the foreseeable future. Given the desire to manage his workload and the fact he has not hit lefthanded pitchers well at all, I would guess he will sit against most lefthanded pitchers.
