TOMBALL, Texas — The Tomball High School baseball team is back in the 6A Division II state championship game and aiming to add another title to its growing legacy.

After earning the program’s second-ever state title last year, the Cougars are now chasing back-to-back championships -- and an undefeated postseason streak to go with it.

“It’s for the team,” catcher Catcher Hopkins said. “No selfishness, nothing for myself or my stats -- it’s all about the team. If we win, we win. Doesn’t matter how you play, it’s about winning.”

While some doubted the team’s chances this year -- especially after the loss of five Division I players -- Tomball proved itself.

Now, the Cougars are 23-0 in playoff games over the past two years.
