PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The atmosphere in Prince George's County was upbeat Tuesday night as Aisha Braveboy claimed victory in the race for County Executive .

“It is an honor to lead Prince George’s County," Braveboy said. "I don’t take it lightly.”

Braveboy faced off against Jonathan White to fill the County Executive seat left open by Senator Angela Alsobrooks.

"Everyone who’s been elected to serve, we have all agreed that we are going to work together to serve you and not ourselves,” she said.

With 67% of voting precincts reporting as of 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Braveboy claimed victory with nearly 90% of the vote.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown shared his support, saying Braveboy will bring her legislative experience to the county.
